"I have experience working with teenagers to senior citizens. I have taught reading and writing to first year college students for fifteen years and tutored students of varying ages in those subjects for the last twenty-four years. I specialize in helping students who have struggled with reading and writing in the past, such as students with learning disabilities. Outside of school, I have edited grants, professional documents, and business communication. I enjoy helping people realize that they can write and write well.

I also have a background in literature. I have worked as a librarian and bookseller. In those positions, I led book groups for adults and story times for small children. Some of my writings have been published nationally, while others have been published regionally and locally.

I have a masters in English, a masters in education (using the creative arts in education), a certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language, and a doctorate in college teaching and learning. My college-level coursework includes classes in education, journalism, literature, and rhetoric.
