"I have a PhD from University of Pittsburgh and Claremont Graduate University. I am an experienced teacher and professor. I have taught at Mount Union, Kent State, Boston University, Claremont Graduate University, the University of Pittsburgh, Brown Mackie College, and the Aultman College of Nursing. I have taught in the areas of basic musicianship, organ, voice, piano, ear training and sight reading, church music, hymnody, music history, music theory, American music, world music (ethnomusicology), and research methodology in music education. I have taught applied lessons in my home and in the preparatory division at Mount Union College.

As a music historian (musicologist), I have published books, articles and encyclopedia essays in many publications. Because my master degree is in theology, I have also taught ethics, medical ethics, general religion, world religion, and liturgics for a number of institutions.

I combine my vast knowledge with what I know as an experienced teacher and a down-to-earth approach so that each student meets their goals and takes away knowledge that they can use throughout their lives.
