"For the last 25 years I've worked in Education as a classroom teacher, homeschool teacher, a substitute teacher, an AVID tutor and a private tutor as well as working in the school office as an Attendance Technician and School Secretary. I've taught all my students, including adults to become intelligent, tolerant, empathic, well-rounded citizens in a safe, fun and meaningful environment. I use humor, stories, and examples the students can relate to so they understand what they "don't get." The part of my classroom teaching I really enjoyed was in the small group setting where I provided the one-on-one experience or when I tutor an individual. When tutoring in a home setting or a library, my approach is very similar. However, since the student is more comfortable, has less distractions and has my full attention, learning takes place on a much faster pace.
