"Fraser is a composer and guitarist influenced by many genres. No stranger to the rock world, he grew up performing and writing with bands that played all over New England, including Warped Tour. After studying jazz for a few years, he decided to pursue classical guitar where he found his home writing for the instrument. He eventually expanded his writing to orchestral instruments where he has written music for various chamber ensembles, solo instruments, voice, and orchestra.
Fraser started learning guitar in 2002. He has been teaching guitar since 2010, composition since 2018, and basic piano since 2020. His teaching on guitar is primarily classical and metal, where he often uses theory, composition, and repertoire to have the students learn. He teaches both in person and online, where students from all over the country study with him.
Fraser received his BM in classical guitar and was the first to receive a minor in composition from The Hartt School of the University of Hartford. He completed a dual masters in composition and classical guitar performance from The Longy School of Music of Bard College summa cum laude, where he studied under Chris Ladd and Alexandra du Bois. He has studied with GFA winner Johannes Moller, AJ Minette, Oli Herbert of All That Remains, Jon Donais of Anthrax/Shadows Fall, and has taken part in over 30 masterclasses over the years." less...
