"Hi, I’m Chris. I’m a guitar player with over 20+ years of experience. I completed my degree in music technology and I am proficient in numerous instruments including electric and acoustic guitar, bass and ukulele. I’ve toured and played lead guitar for multiple bands with genres spanning rock, pop, jazz, folk, bluegrass and alternative, but I’m open to teaching any genre. In college, I completed a diverse range of music-related courses including music theory, composition, song-writing, production, publishing and copyright, among others. My lessons are tailored to your needs, and I’m committed to making the process efficient and fun. I want you to be successful at your guitar goals.

For beginners, I use lesson plans to progress you through your guitar journey including intro to guitar anatomy, finger exercises, strumming patterns, one string scale exercises, major and minor pentatonic scales, common chords, and songs. For more advanced players, we’ll cover topics like modes, chord voicings, finger-picking styles, double stops, triads, chord theory and motifs.

I always ensure you are able to review practiced material until it is mastered, with constructive and friendly feedback, and I recognize that students progress at different speeds and I will personalize your lessons for this. I will help you learn that song you’ve always wanted to play, and/or we can follow the stepwise progression through the material so you can reliably tackle any songs in the future.

I am comfortable teaching elementary-aged students through older adults. My lessons are for those who have never held a guitar to those who want to perfect their chops.
