I began my teaching career at a parochial school in New York City. I was the school Librarian. I maintained the library, choose relevant books for both the library and the teaching staff. I worked hard to make sure that the school library was a reflection of the academic excellence the school was known for. I was also a cooperating teacher at the Sisulu-Walker charter school. I also spent 4 years in the Monticello school district as a case manager for the middle and high school. I also have a certificate that qualifies me to teach English as a second language. For a short time I taught reading to adults who were deficient in reading.

In my positions I taught reading and language to elementary students. I also designed and taught an art class for elementary students. The reading method we used was called direct instruction and was designed to insure children had mastered the current material before going on to the next level. Children not mastering the current material were given additional help until the desired outcome was achieved. In my work at the Monticello middle school I used various methods to encourage my students to increase their vocabulary. I was an English minor in college and I love reading. I try to help children develop a love of reading and to see all of the ways it can take them on journeys..I have spent my entire adult life working with and on behalf of children. My greatest joy is to see children grow and excel.

I was an English minor in college. I have written a book which is being published. I taught reading and language in my prior job as a cooperating teacher. I also passed a course in public speaking. My knowledge of grammar is excellent and I am well versed in literature.
