"My twenty years experience as a Bilingual Elementary teacher has given me the opportunity to observe and optimize the skills and capabilities the students get into my class since the first day they arrive. I also recognize the effort parents display when interacting with their children.

During my school years, it was very rewarding to see the results at the end of the school year, not only by passing the TAAS, TAKS, TEKS, or

all those state evaluations, but also the students development as human beings, mature, responsible, honest, polite, but especially humble.

I trained my students to show or teach other students from the same grade level in our school (At their age and language level) the skills needed according the school curricula. I participated in after school programs such as Young Astronauts, Science and Math Fairs, Cultural events and of course, parent/teacher conferences. Several times I was observed by new teachers sent by the school district or trained teachers from other schools during workdays, in Math, science and Spanish. I was also member of the district committee to review the design of the state TAAS test. I really enjoyed those days!

I involve the students in daily life examples and how Math is used to solve problems like in traffic, construction, budget, etc., and how this subject is interconnected with the rest of the subjects such as science, Lang Arts, Reading, even Art and P E
