"When I combined my passion for people with my eye for design and details, I landed on this dream job of being a professional hairdresser. At the time, I hoped my intelligence or good fortune would help me fast-track my way to fluency and efficiency, but of course only hard work, practice, and stepping out of my comfort zone has lit my path forward. And all this is just to say: only through education can you succeed as a hairdresser. There's loads to learn, and ways to learn, and hairdressers must forge their path through constant improvement in the practice of this exciting craft of haircutting and coloring.
My aim is share my love of hairdressing, easy enough to see in my warm, encouraging, and empathetic style. At the same time, I focus on the many technical points that form the foundations of our work, then add tips I've picked-up, and demonstrate techniques I've studied. By providing this affirming, focused content, students can more easily gain the confidence needed to "fake it til you make it," the unspoken mantra of hairdressers worldwide.
Just getting down to the basics and doing the work through any failure or discomfort is what's most needed to master this empowering craftwork. In our work, we get there together, and I provide well-produced and written content, as well as deliverables for you to download, such as headsheets. I will help you discover what you know and what you still need to learn, discuss ways to adapt services to suit individual guests, and delve into life on and off the salon floor.
