"Hi Everyone! My name is Ahab, and I would love to help you get ahead and excel as your tutor. I have been tutoring since 2014 and have worked one-on-one with hundreds of students. As an undergraduate at Harvard University, I pursued advanced coursework in education and helped teach a variety of college-level courses from Math to Computer Science. I am a big proponent of a constructivist approach to education, where students are pushed to play an active role in their learning. All my lessons focus on building off my student’s preexisting knowledge and encouraging their growth through various activities. Currently, I tutor SAT, ACT, MCAT, college and medical school applications, and interview preparation. I can also help with subject-specific content (i.e. biology, chemistry, neuroscience, etc.)
My Qualifications:
I have 10 years of experience. I graduated from Harvard University with a double major in Chemistry and Neuroscience and minor in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations. I scored in the 99th percentile on the MCAT and in the 99th percentile on the SAT. I have completed all my medical school coursework and have taken both Step 1 and 2.
My Approach:
I really enjoy getting to know each of my students and helping them achieve their goals – whether it’s scoring 515+ on the MCAT or preparing a competitive application for top universities. Because of this, it is important to me that we discuss your goals, identify any weaknesses in study strategy/application materials, and come up with a plan together. My sessions are hands-on: your contributions to our lesson are just as important as my own.
