"Hello! I’m Glory, and I enjoy making biology exciting and easy for students. I have a teaching certificate from Harvard University’s Derek Bok Center and instruct with current, evidence-based research on learning. I am currently a resident at University of Pennsylvania and a DMD graduate from Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Harvard Medical School.
I believe the best instructors are like the best doctors: they treat the whole person, not just the issue, and make the process enjoyable. I thus invest significant time understanding and targeting each student’s unique needs. I also focus on instilling critical life skills and study strategies used by the top 1% of students at Harvard Medical School. This approach has helped many of my students dramatically improve their grades and excel on national exams.
I grew up in Virginia and attended Trinity College on a full academic scholarship, graduating in 2017 with a 4.0, double majoring with honors in Theater/Dance and Biology. I published multiple times in peer-reviewed biology journals, twice as first-author, within three years. I obtained an HHMI Janelia Fellowship during my junior year and presented my research at top biology conferences such as the International Congress of Vertebrate Morphology. After graduating from Trinity, I continued research at Harvard Medical School, publishing in the genetics department.
Throughout my experiences, I’ve strengthened virtues like patience, clear communication, and fun, which are crucial for effective learning. Clearly explaining the “why” and the “so what?!” in biology is essential. A deep understanding of biology involves recognizing patterns that connect recurring themes and organize vast information. These elements are often missing in modern education, leaving bright students confused or unmotivated. I truly care about each of my students and enjoy working with students of all ages, from elementary to graduate levels. If you are interested in working with me, please don’t hesitate to send a message!" less...
