Is history or math giving you a headache? Worry not! I’ve got you covered! With years of tutoring experience, I can help make both subjects not just manageable, but enjoyable!
As a tutor, I excel at breaking down complex topics into digestible pieces, drawing the big picture while not missing the details. I make use of a variety of study resources--books, diagrams, videos, interactive whiteboards, etc.--to help students understand the materials from diverse perspectives. For history (esp. AP Euro / World / US History), I help students see the overall patterns and relationships between historical events while developing the kinds of historical thinking and writing required for the AP courses. My AP exam reviews are done systemically, with unit reviews and plenty of practice for the MCQs / SAQs / DBQs / LEQs. Each session is designed to meet the specific needs of each student.
On the math front, let me assure you: math doesn't have to be difficult! I myself received perfect scores on both SAT I and II math and 98% on the GRE math. I teach with diagrams, graphs, and real-life examples to help students understand the concepts with ease. I aim to make math as enjoyable as possible and firmly believe that with proper guidance, ANYONE can excel in math. I cover everything from K-12 math to SAT/ACT/GRE, so reach out if you'd like to discuss plans to improve your math skills!
Beyond teaching, I genuinely enjoy getting to know the students and offering help specifically tailored to each one of them. I take into account not only the students’ grades at school but their overall environment, tendencies, and goals to best support them. Ultimately, my aim is to help students succeed academically and to empower them as a person. I always offer a free 40-min intake session, so contact me if you are interested and let's get the ball rolling!" less...
