"Hello! I'm Drew. I hold a bachelor's degree in humanities from Harvard University. During my time as an undergraduate, I was involved in various extracurricular writing projects, including script writing and editing for student plays, local performances, and video projects. I also assisted students with their Common App essays and supplements, helping them gain admission to top universities like the University of Rochester, Tufts, and Boston University.
Additionally, I served as the vice president of the Hyperion Shakespeare Company and have an in-depth knowledge of Shakespeare and Early Modern English. I am particularly excited to coach students in classic literature, guiding them through topics spanning the challenging language of Shakespeare, the artistic choices of Hemingway and Fitzgerald, and the poetry of Homer and Sappho. I also focus on teaching approaches to thematic analysis and close readings. I have worked with students on persuasive essay writing and developing literary analysis skills that have helped them earn A's in AP English Literature courses.
I aim to help students of all ages reach their full potential through highly personalized and engaging coaching. While I primarily coach AP and college-level essay writing, I am also confident in tutoring various subjects across the humanities, including fiction, poetry, essay writing, philosophy, drama, world history, and world religion. Additionally, I have experience tutoring students diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD.
Thank you for considering me as your tutor! If you have any questions, or wish to schedule a meeting, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
Best,
