"I have had the privilege to tutor full time for the last 7 years in Los Angeles. I lean on patience and empathy as the cornerstones of an approach that I hand craft for every student I teach. I strongly value developing intuition, especially in more abstract areas of math and science. One of my primary directives is to share what my eyes see when I take in a concept or problem. This builds a broader problem solving toolset for my students that they can employ when approaching new material.
My students have hailed from a wide set of backgrounds with ages spanning elementary to graduate school. I have tutored math and science at the non-AP level as well as a variety of AP courses including: Calculus AB and BC, Physics 1/2, Physics C: Mechanics/Electricity and Magnetism, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Microeconomics, and Computer Science. My pacing is adaptive: I have taught gifted students at accelerated paces as well as actors on set and off set which requires intensive time efficiency without sacrificing quality of education. I have helped students succeed on standardized tests including the SAT, ACT, and SAT Subject Tests (Math IIC, Chemistry, Biology, Physics). I also have coached students for competitions including Mathcounts, AMC 8/10/12, AIME, Chemistry and Physics Olympiads. At the college level, I have tutored a wide range of classes including: Mathematics (College Algebra, Single and Multivariable Calculus, Probability, Statistics, Linear Algebra, Group Theory, Number Theory, Set Theory), Physics (Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism, Astronomy), Chemistry (Organic, Inorganic).
As a lifelong learner myself, I recognize that facing what you do not understand is a vulnerable process. It is deeply rewarding to me to help guide you through that thicket." less...
