"Hi! My name is Mira, and I recently graduated summa cum laude (GPA: 4.0) from Harvard University with a B.A. in Psychology. I have a deep love of teaching and enjoy working with students to tailor the tutoring experience to their individual needs. My approach to tutoring is to model different problem-solving strategies and help students adapt them for their own use.
Over the past 9 years, I've gained experience tutoring a variety of subjects across multiple grades and difficulty levels. At the high school level, I tutor algebra, geometry, physics, biology, English, and psychology. I received 5's on all AP courses I took in these subjects (AP Physics 1, AP Biology, AP Language and Composition, AP Literature, and AP Psychology). At the college level, I tutor psychology, neuroscience, and research methods. I also enjoy teaching general research and writing skills to apply across different subjects. I'm always happy to work with interested students on learning a new skill or pursuing a passion project!
My tutoring experience mainly comes from working with students one-on-one. I have worked in my high school's math and writing resource centers, providing drop-in support to students in algebra, geometry, calculus, and English courses. I have also worked for Harvard's Academic Resource Center, providing weekly tutoring for college students in psychology and neuroscience classes. In addition to one-on-one settings, I also have experience supporting high school and college science and math classes: I taught course content, facilitated activities, and answered student questions in physics, geometry, and neuroscience classes. Lastly, I have experience building and teaching my own curriculum for a one-week psychology intensive course for high school students.
I'm happy to answer any questions, so please don't hesitate to reach out! I'm looking forward to working with you!" less...
