"I hold a B.S. from Cornell University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
In 2004 I was sworn into the CA Bar. Despite enjoying legal practice, my true love has always been teaching, so in 2006 I launched a tutoring program designed to help pre-law and law school students make sense of legal texts and navigate through their law courses. In 2008, I expanded my service to encompass LSAT and Bar Exam test prep, and to assist with law school and legal job applications.
As a tutor I've developed a reputation for finding creative ways to help "stuck" students break through plateaus and am often referred to students who did not benefit from larger test-prep programs or who have less common learning challenges. At the heart of my business is the premise that every student is unique and thus large test-prep companies which use one-size-fits-all methods do not adequately meet the needs of the majority of students.
Every student who comes to me is offered a free consultation during which I do my best to learn about that student, his/her goals and his/her learning style. Together, we develop a preliminary tutoring program which incorporates the teaching method(s) best suited to that student's needs. This plan serves as a blue-print throughout their time with me, but remains flexible should needs change or should the student feel they want to try something different. I believe the key to being an excellent tutor is to always be available to students, to maintain good communication with each client, and to remain responsive to their changing needs as they progress. At the core of each tutoring plan is my desire to provide an excellent experience which is effective, cost-efficient, and enjoyable (yes-testing is stressful, but we can still laugh along the way!).
I truly love tutoring and believe every student who has worked with me comes to understand how committed I am to always giving 100%. Please contact me if you are interested in scheduling a free consultation and discussing what I can do for you." less...
