"Hello, I'm Marie! I'm an Ivy League-educated academic coach. I have taught architecture studios at Syracuse University and served as a design critic at Columbia, Cornell, Yale, and Parsons. I have worked one-on-one with students as a design and architecture tutor and college admissions counselor. My approach is to develop an encouraging, supportive mentorship with my students!
I work with students from high school, college, and masters programs to help develop and refine their design skill-sets, their projects, portfolios, applications if needed. We will work together on concepts, images, drawings, models, layout, and presentations, or anything else you might need!
I run a design practice based in Brooklyn called Twenty Three Calvin, which focuses on the production of buildings, interiors, and landscapes. The studio’s work is motivated by an exploration of aesthetics, informed by its elemental approach to materiality, methodology, ethics, and subjective experience. I am a licensed architect in the US, and received my Masters in Architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design, and my Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design from Art Center College of Design. I have worked for Herzog & de Meuron, Davies Toews Architects, Vitra, and Studio Too Good, among other architecture and design firms.
I'm looking forward to meeting you and helping you in your studies and career!" less...
