"Hi, I'm Christopher! I'm currently a medical student at Harvard Medical School. I graduated summa cum laude from Dickinson College with degrees in French and Anthropology. My undergraduate studies include anthropology, sociology, French language, and literature. I am interested in an interdisciplinary approach to human health -- from biological, psychological, and sociocultural perspectives.
Studying French, from high school to college courses and living abroad, has taught me the challenges and joys of learning a second language. After studying abroad in France and Cameroon, I was selected to be a Teaching Assistant in college, in which I led introductory French courses for students. I also served as a Multilingual Writing Tutor to help students improve their French and English writing skills. Following graduation, I participated in a government program teaching English in a large French high school. After teaching for a year in France, I pivoted to a career in medicine. I enrolled in a post-baccalaureate premedical program that spanned biology, chemistry, physics, and biostatistics. Following the program I tutored myself in preparation for the MCAT. I am now a second-year student at Harvard Medical School, and have completed pre-clinical coursework in the basic medical sciences.
My multidisciplinary education across the sciences and humanities, coupled with my prior experience as a teacher, makes me an optimal tutor to help you succeed in your academic pursuits. We can address skills-building in French, biology and anatomy, the social sciences, MCAT test preparation, writing, and reading comprehension. My approach to tutoring revolves around empowerment, to help you identify your areas of weakness and misunderstanding, and to help you develop an approach to improving those areas in a way that aligns with your personal learning style. Feel free to message me with any questions!" less...
