"I am a Stanford and Harvard trained economics professor teaching at Harvard Kennedy School (previously at Boston College), currently focusing on tutoring and writing a textbook. I pride myself in helping students develop a deep understanding of fundamental economics and statistics concepts, and I have a proven track record for improving students' confidence and grades.
My college-level teaching includes microeconomics at every level (intro up to PhD), principles of macroeconomics, health economics, and game theory. I am also very comfortable tutoring statistics, econometrics, and macroeconomics at any level, as well as applied economics fields like managerial economics, environmental economics, labor economics, behavioral economics, experimental economics, and public economics. I have extensive experience using Stata, SAS, and Excel, and am comfortable with R, SPSS, and jamovi for statistics and econometrics. Finally, I am familiar with both the AP economics and IB economics curricula and am confident tutoring students in high school as well as college and graduate school. I would love to work with you to create an individualized learning plan, help you overcome any obstacles to your learning, and impart some of the joy I find in these subjects.
Whether you are struggling with big-picture concepts or the mathematical details of economic analysis of models, I am more than happy to help. My focus is not on memorization (though some memorization is unavoidable), but on helping students understand the *why* behind economic, mathematical, and statistical techniques and results.
I also play and tutor poker on the side; if you are interested in poker tutoring, my rates are negotiable.
Please contact me here on Wyzant's platform with any questions or to schedule tutoring sessions either in person or online. I hope to meet and work with you soon!" less...
