"Hello:) My name is Heather and I have 17 years of experience in education. I have worked with students in Pre-K thru Middle School. My specialty is reading but I am qualified to tutor any subject K-6. I have been a private tutor, worked at before and after school programs, directed summer school programs, and taught in classes Pre-K thru Middle School.

My favorite thing about tutoring is constructing lessons that specifically meet the needs and the learning style of the student that I am working with. I love getting to know the students that I tutor so that I can incorporate their interests into our lessons. I enjoy using games to enhance the engagement level of my lessons for my students.

I am an outstanding elementary tutor because I can adapt to the various grade levels with ease. I have the ability to take the same learning standard and create a lesson for a primary grade and increase the rigor and create a similar lesson for an intermediate grade. I am extremely flexible in my ability to adapt to working with different ages levels and am extremely comfortable creating engaging lessons for any subject K-6.

I am an outstanding reading tutor because I love to read and I have a lot of experience helping students to find their own reading lane. I have had success finding a reading niche for students who didn't think they enjoyed reading. I enjoy giving book talks for new books that I find and encourage students to also try books that may be out of their comfort zone.
