"As a Senior at Montclair State University, I’m in the final stages of earning my degree in education, along with a teaching certification for K-6 learners. Throughout my college journey, I’ve accumulated a wealth of experience working with students in various educational settings. I spent two years teaching as a small group instruction teacher, working with students in grades K-8. In these sessions, I helped students hone skills in subjects like math, phonics, reading comprehension, fluency, spelling, grammar, and fractions, typically in groups of 3-4 or even one-on-one. This hands-on experience has provided me with the opportunity to adapt my teaching strategies to the diverse learning needs of students.

In addition to my classroom experience, I’ve also tutored students consistently throughout my high school and college years, gaining invaluable insight into individualized learning. Whether it was supporting students with their academic struggles or challenging those who needed enrichment, I’ve had the privilege of helping students build confidence and succeed in various subjects. My time as a student teacher also allowed me to develop my skills further, as I worked directly with students in a structured classroom setting. The combination of these experiences has shaped my passion for education and reinforced the importance of personalized, targeted instruction.

Beyond traditional classroom experiences, I’ve also worked as a dance teacher for pre-K children, where I learned the importance of patience, creativity, and flexibility in teaching young learners. These experiences have allowed me to develop a well-rounded approach to working with students of all ages and backgrounds.
