"Born and raised in Amarillo, I am a family man who worked his way through college twice by tutoring. My entire life, I have been in love with learning. I was the kid whose parents bought him an encyclopedia and I would fall down a rabbit hole of articles much like people today fall down an internet rabbit hole today. Unfortunately, my health caused me to cut my career short. Disabled now, I still like to keep my mind sharp and help others as much as I can.
My degree plan was Engineering Physics and Mathematics. I picked it because it sounded like three majors while it was only two. I graduated high school with college credits for English Comp I and II, Algebra I and II, Trigonometry, and Calculus I. Since then, I have aced every math class offered to undergraduates and have had articles that I have written published in several national magazines.
In high school, I was a National Merit Scholar and on my SATs I scored 1350 with a perfect 800 in math. Even as a high school junior, I was tutoring the valedictorian of the senior class in Calculus. In college, I tutored, both as work-study and independently, to pay the bills. Currently, I have two high school students at home who come to me with any help they need.
I am good with rules. Both math follows very concrete rules. I understand those rules and others say I have a way of explaining them so that anyone can understand them. Physics is just applied mathematics and is subject to a similar set of rules. In college, I coded a physics engine from scratch, and although it wasn't professional quality, it worked.
If one person wants to be understood by another, they both have to use the same guidelines. Collectively, we all have agreed on a set of rules so that any two English speakers can understand each other. Those rules may not be as strict as mathematics, but they are just as important.
If you struggle with grammar, math, or science rules, give me a chance. I may just be the one who can put them in terms you can understand." less...
