I am a recent graduate of Duke university, obtaining degrees in Biology and Computer Science. I am now attempting an MD/PhD in pediatric genomic medicine. In the past, I have taken nearly a dozen AP tests, been a national merit scholar, obtained a 1600 perfect SAT score, and tested a 520 MCAT score. I am confident in my ability to share my knowledge with others.
In the past, I have tutored in a variety of circumstances. I first started out doing peer to peer tutoring in high school, where groups of students would tutor each other in order to mask each others weaknesses. I eventually moved onto paid SAT tutoring, where I helped three students over the course of a year achieve their desired SAT scores. During the pandemic, I wanted to help out with struggling students, so I volunteered to do Zoom tutoring for high school and junior high students. Finally, in college, I volunteered in CHANCE tutoring, where I would tutor underprivileged kids in 1 on 1 sessions for any topic they needed. Overall, I have a very personalized approach in tutoring. I am not afraid to rewrite my curriculum to fit the needs of a specific student. I find that this approach most helps with standardized testing like the SAT, where the available resources will struggle to help your own specific weaknesses." less...
