"My name is Annika and I am in my second year at Vanderbilt University. I am studying Cognitive Studies, Political Science, and Spanish in hopes of getting a job in the field of law or Neuroscience. My passions include reading, writing, and learning other languages. Right now I am learning Hindi! I have never been a part of a tutoring service, but I have spent time with students helping to improve their writing and often proof read and edit essays and papers. I love helping people to expand their vocabulary and learn to write more eloquently. I believe someone's writing is a good representation of them as a student and an employee. Having strong writing can set you apart from others. I am also passionate about encouraging and helping people learn other languages. It is a tool that can open doors to world travel, jobs, and allow you to have a broader community within your own home state.

I am half Chilean and have grown up hearing Spanish in various social situations. I loved it so much that I decided to study it more deeply in an academic setting in order to better my reading and writing comprehension. I am now minoring in Spanish at Vanderbilt University. I have taken upper level classes and have pushed myself to speak with the people around me even when I am not in a classroom setting. I hope to build solid foundations for new language learners so that they may do the same.

My journey as a writer has been long and arduous at times. I had to work very hard to grow and learn how to write pieces that were not only satisfactory but worthy of praise as well. In high school I was on the editorial staff of my school newspaper and wrote several award winning pieces. My studies in university are largely in the social science fields and because of that many of my courses require high quality essays very frequently. I have excelled in producing these papers and would love to work with students that struggle like I did in the past to help boost their confidence.
