"I recently completed a Master of Science in Cybersecurity at Saint Louis University, where I maintained a strong GPA. My studies focus on network security, compliance, and cybersecurity frameworks, providing me with both technical expertise and problem-solving skills. Before this, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Saint Edward’s University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. This interdisciplinary educational background equips me to effectively analyze, communicate, and teach a wide range of subjects.
My teaching experience includes roles as a one-on-one Tutor, an ESL Teacher, and a contributor to an anti-racist teaching task force. As a Tutor since January 2018, I work with high school and college students on Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Cal, and Chemistry. I customize lessons to individual learning styles, develop instructional materials to address specific challenges, and provide support with homework, helping students build a strong understanding of mathematical principles. Previously, as an ESL Teacher at Interfaith Action of Central Texas, I worked with non-native speakers, tailoring lessons to improve their English proficiency. I created a welcoming and inclusive environment to ensure students felt comfortable and engaged while tracking their progress with constructive feedback. Additionally, I contributed to Saint Edward’s University’s Anti-Racist Teaching Taskforce, collaborating with faculty and peers to develop strategies for promoting equity and inclusivity in education.
My approach is student-focused and adaptable, emphasizing clear communication and real-world applications to help students connect with the material. I have experience teaching students from diverse age groups, including high schoolers, college peers, and adult learners, in both academic and volunteer settings. Whether it’s simplifying complex concepts or encouraging critical thinking, I am passionate about empowering students to achieve their goals and build confidence in their abilities." less...
