"Hi! My name is Diya and I am a current college student at Loyola who has always been helping others in high school whether it was through volunteering my time and teaching younger Freshman students English, Reading, and Science after school or taking time out on the weekends to create detailed study guides and sharing them with my friends and teaching other peers a subject. I know the feeling of getting a bad grade on an exam or feeling lost in a class and loosing that motivation to study as I have also experienced that period in high school where one low grade on an exam made me doubt myself and if I was capable of reaching my own potential and getting an A. However, I was able to turn that around by making a detailed plan and scheduling time to study and start studying and preparing in advance and doing as much as practice as I could as well as gaining efficient studying habits such as teaching myself which helped me turn that overall B to an overall high A and I gained self confidence with this growth. I have experience with tutoring elementary students at my local library to teaching high school students after and during school with National English Honors Society at my high school and both these experiences have taught me to work with all kinds of students and built my love for tutoring.
I love tutoring because it allows me to share my passion about subjects that I genuinely love such as English and Biology and help my peers succeed and seeing that overall growth which isn't just measured by the grade they receive, but by their own inner confidence that increases and knowledge that they earn. I want to help other students who might be struggling or just need some support to reach their potential and provide them with the right studying habits and tools that I have used and learned over time to help them get those grades they want whether it's the study guides I have made or practice problems I've done or personalized schedule I've made to balance my time in school or prepare for finals.
