"I am Alexei, a rising Junior at The George Washington University pursuing a B.S. in Economics and a Minor in Accountancy. Besides academics, I am also a competitive athlete in Figure Skating. For 2 years now I have also been teaching ice skating to an incredibly diverse range of long-term clients. My students have varied in age (pre-school to 50+) and skill level (beginner to advanced), including students with special needs. As a private instructor I have effectively learned to assess my students’ needs, understand their personal goals, and develop curricula to achieve those targets based on my 15 years of experience in the sport. As I am now looking to work more in my fields of study, I am excited to apply those same skills to tutoring in subjects such as economics, math, and accounting.

My journey in economics began when I took AP micro and macro economics my Junior year of high school. Even though the subjects were challenging, I was able to utilize a systematic approach to studying in order to excel. While I started out struggling along with the rest of my peers, I finished that year with the highest grade in the class and having earned a 5 on both the Micro and Macro Economics AP exams. Since then, I also completed other rigorous courses such as AP Statistics, and AP AB Calculus in high school. In college I have gone on to study advanced topics such as Financial Economics, International Macroeconomics, Econometrics, Intermediate Microeconomic Theory, Intermediate Macroeconomic Theory, Financial and Managerial accounting, and more.

I believe in a goal oriented approach to academics so I welcome any feedback and communication when it comes to discussing my students’ goals and how would be best to reach them. Just like everybody, I am a lifelong learner, so I am always looking for new ways to improve both in my own studies and in the way I help others.
