"I'm Vincent. I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's degree with High Honors in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Anthropology. I have a Master's of Science (Oxon) in Integrated Immunology. I was pursuing a medical degree at SUNY Downstate for one year before deciding to leave the program. I realized that I truly enjoyed the process of teaching and inspiring students about science and that my time and skills could be best utilized towards that goal. This interest began when I was teaching high school and undergraduate students laboratory science during my undergraduate research lab experience. This was in either small group sessions or one on one meetings. I continued this for three years at my undergraduate lab. My preferred method is to first instill a sense of appreciation for the subject matter before proceeding to teaching the finer details. When I see the curiosity, engagement, and retention of information from the students after using this method, it is both a rewarding and effective teaching experience. My year of medical school training has further honed my studying approach in terms of effectively utilizing studying techniques such as mnemonics and picmonics. I look forward to leveraging these skills to enhance teaching efficacy.

From my experience, I found that the most effective tutoring occurs when both the tutor and student/parents are active participants.
