"Hi, I'm Amandine, & I welcome the opportunity to help you/your child succeed!

I have a strong educational background in the sciences, having completed a BSc and MSc, both in Biology (with honors), and I recently published my research in a peer-reviewed ecology journal. While in college, I would occasionally tutor one-on-one family members in various subjects, primarily Biology or General Science, Math (MS math concepts, Algebra 1), writing (MS/HS English or Social Sciences), and French.

After working several years in a non-teaching biology role, I joined a K-12 school and am now in my 2nd year of teaching in a classroom setting at the MS (grades 6-8) and HS (grades 9-10) level. My current course load includes a first-year high school introductory (IGCSE) Biology course for students on the path to an International Baccalaureate program. I also teach an introductory (MS) and intermediate (HS) technology class. I meet one-on-one with these students who may need additional support with a challenging topic, or who otherwise have different learning needs and benefit from more targeted instruction. While my primary language of instruction is English, I teach in a bilingual English/French setting and am a native French speaker.

I greatly enjoy helping my students succeed in and out of the classroom, and via tutoring look forward to helping others tackle challenging concepts and perform to the best of their ability. My goal is to provide a positive & encouraging learning environment, and tailor my teaching/tutoring approach to students' individual challenges and needs. Together, we will break down complex concepts to facilitate theoretical understanding, apply our knowledge to solve relevant problems, and overall gain confidence in the subject matter. I also encourage students to develop time management & strong study habits, which benefit them in school and beyond. Every student is capable of success, regardless of their starting point!
