"I'm Eva! I currently attend Smith College as a STRIDE scholar with a government and anthropology double major. I graduated high school in the full IB program with a total score of 45, including 7s in Literature HL, History HL, Biology HL, French SL, Math Studies SL, and Global Politics SL. I also scored a 34 on the ACT and a 1520 on the SAT, and have done some test prep for standardized tests as well, largely focused on the reading, english, and science sections.
I find that success in the IB program largely depends on individualized help, pattern recognition, and efficient preparation and studying. I've picked up a lot of tips and tricks over the years to make the most out of your time and get the results you want to see. I love to teach material and help students understand and engage with it so I hope to make tutoring a fun experience that lessens your stress and makes you feel more confident and prepared :)
I also offer debate coaching! I did debate for many years as a competitive state and national debater (traditional circuits) in LD, Congressional, and Extemporaneous Debate. I qualified for NSDA Nationals 3 times in Congress and LD (2 times), took 2nd, 2nd, and 3rd at my state tournament in LD, and placed 10th in Extemporaneous Debate at NSDA Nationals my junior year. Currently, I compete on the college level in American Parliamentary, having placed at multiple national-level tournaments. I coached my high school team extensively my senior year of high school and coached a middle school speech and debate camp for several years. Since tutoring, several of my students have gone on to place or break at their own tournaments, including placing in the top ten at NSDA nationals. Debate is one of my biggest passions and I love to help others get better at debating!
