"Hello! My name is Ryan and I'm ready to be you or your student's math tutor! I graduated from Ball State in 2021 with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and a minor in Computer Science. Since then, I have pursued high school teaching where I have received my licensure. I currently teach Geometry and Algebra 2 at Wes-Del Middle/High School.
While I'm mostly accustomed to teaching high school students, I am more than capable and ready to help those in elementary and middle school. I also have the appropriate background to help those who are also pursuing further education with mathematics. Topics I can teach include elementary school math, middle school math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I and II, Geometry, Precalculus, Trigonometry, Integral/Derivative/Multi-Variable Calculus, SAT Prep, ACT Prep, and many more. Tutoring experience includes 5 months of middle school tutoring in Muncie.
I like to take a conceptual approach to one-on-one tutoring. If students don't understand the underlying mechanics, then how could they ever truly learn mathematics? I'm not a tutor who will just teach a process and call it a day, I want students to feel like they have control over their work. Overall, I want to increase a student's mathematical reasoning, conceptual understanding, and procedural fluency to be worked upon in tutoring sessions. I also believe in having a fun, enjoyable time when I tutor. I don't want my students to dread my visits, rather look forward to them!" less...
