"My name is Joseph. I'm a recent high school graduate now attending college. I attained a 1570 on my SAT, placing me at or above the 75th percentile for every college in the United States barring MIT. I have attained 5s on twelve AP tests, and 4s on two more. I've learned from taking these tests that they are not just about knowledge; they test a specific set of test-taking skills that can be grown. These skills are often applicable to testing in the classroom in addition to the AP test itself. My tutoring strategy revolves around bolstering test-taking skills in parallel with knowledge in order to minimize stress while maximizing outcomes.

I am most familiar with STEM subjects; I am capable of tutoring every AP STEM class except AP Environmental Science and AP Chemistry, as I have not taken those classes. I attained AP 5s and As in every one of those classes that I did take. When I began tutoring in high school, I intended to tutor for mathematics specifically. The peer tutoring center instead assigned me a small group of two or three struggling students to support across all subjects. Within the span of a month, the students were doing well enough that they graduated out of the peer tutoring center, at which point new students joined the group and the process began anew. As such, I am capable of teaching the liberal arts just as effectively.

My tutoring style emphasizes the role of the student in their own education. I firmly believe that even more intense courseloads should feel at least as rewarding as they are stressful, and in many cases, sparking interest in the subject is the most effective way to improve results. I emphasize student autonomy so that they can take full responsibility for their achievements and feel empowered to learn.
