"I'm Shailaja! I am a current honors undergraduate student with a 4.0 GPA studying molecular and cellular biology. As a tutor I focus on teaching material in a way that best aligns with the student's preferred learning method. I teach content differently for students who prefer visual learning as opposed to auditory learning. Additionally my lessons focus on developing strong foundational understanding and study skills that students can continue to apply on their own.

I have extensive teaching experience through my role as a faculty member at a dance school. I have taught both private lessons and group lessons for 5-10 students for the past 5 years. My students range in age from 7 years to adults. I also have experience tutoring middle school and high school students in algebra 1, biology and chemistry. I have extensive mentoring experience as I was the CEO of a non-profit aimed at teaching young women business and entrepreneurship skills. I previously completed both AP Biology and AP Chemistry scoring a 5 on both exams. I have completed advanced coursework in biology and chemistry at a university level and I have laboratory experience as a student researcher in a cancer biology lab.
