"I'm Katie! I graduated from Brandeis University with a B.S. in Biology on the premedical track. The classes that I have always loved the most have been those with professors who are excited about the subject they teach and are good at communicating concepts. As a tutor, I am excited to work with you to reach your academic goals and help you understand course material like my favorite teachers and professors did for me.

I have always loved science, and from my premedical coursework and MCAT preparation, I have a lot of experience with the basic sciences. In high school, I got a 5 on both my AP Chemistry and AP Biology exams, and I also got A's in my honors general chemistry and biology classes and labs in college. I love to teach chemistry, biology, and any other foundational science! Whether your goal is to score well on an AP exam, learn a new concept for a test, or just strengthen your understanding of the material, I will work with you toward your specific goal. Before a lesson, I like to hear about what your goal for the session(s) is and what you're learning about in class so that I can put together material that will be helpful. I'm also happy to work with you on practice problems or homework that you're doing in class and need help with.

I also tutor for the SAT, with a specialty in the math section. I scored a 1540 on the SAT (800 math, 740 reading), and can provide helpful test-taking strategies as well as concept review for the exam. The SAT can be a big boost to your college application, and I will work with you to achieve the score that you want.
