"Hey there, my name is Kaden! I'm currently enrolled as a first year student at Virginia Tech majoring in biological sciences. My current course load includes calculus, biology, chemistry, and philosophy. I've learned a lot this year about time management and school-life balance, and I've found myself wanting to include more academia into the work aspect of my life. I'm excited to share all the knowledge that helped me get to this point with others that need it! As a creative, passionate person, I'm sure our lessons will be fun and engaging.

The bulk of my tutoring experience comes from my own home life. I grew up in a low-income household where we couldn't afford any extracurriculars, much less a tutor. As such, I've spent years helping my four younger (current ages 3-13) siblings with their classes while also balancing my own. Despite the circumstances, these experiences made me realized just how passionate I was about helping others learn. While this experience didn't necessarily come from a professional environment, I've found the best method to helping students is to adapt the information to them, not the other way around. Of course, this occurs alongside helping students expand their thought process to include other lines of reasoning, but that is more of a long term goal. Additionally, I have some experience running an informal peer tutoring group at my former high school, which aimed to help prepare students for exams and with small homework assignments. Most of the subjects I've focused on include English, Algebra, some Calculus, Biology, and Chemistry. I've also helped with test prep (such as the SAT and AP exams). From a more artistic standpoint, I'm quite passionate about crochet- I would love to help someone get started with that too!

Ultimately, my goal is to provide students with as much help as I can possibly offer. Learning can be hard, and we all need some help sometimes! I'm open to using a variety of methods, and I hope we can grow and learn together as tutor and student!" less...
