"I am a retired law enforcement professional with over thirty-four years of experience in criminal justice. I have worked at all levels of policing from patrolling the streets to managing and supervising hundreds of employees in large geographic areas. I have worked in departments from the state, county, municipal levels and started my police career at a higher education institution. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University. I am also a graduate of two prestigious police management schools; the Northwestern University Traffic Institute School of Staff and Command and the FBI National Academy Session 212.

I am a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) licensed instructor and formerly a firearms instructor with the Texas Department of Public Safety. I have taught classes on case preparation, RADAR, Stinger Spikes and Complaint Investigations. I have provided instruction, leadership and guidance to individuals and groups for over twenty years. My journey in policing has allowed me the opportunity to work with a wide variety of associates and law enforcement professionals at the federal, state and local level.

I retired from the Texas Department of Public Safety in 2009 with the rank of Major. I retired completely from law enforcement in 2014 but currently carry a Special Ranger Commission with the Texas Department of Public Safety. I am also in the process of obtaining my private investigator license and establishing my own business. I believe I have a significant amount of knowledge and understanding of the American criminal justice system and would enjoy sharing that knowledge with students whose interest and or ambitions are in that field.
