"Hello! I am a career educator with 15 years of experience working with students from 1st to 8th grade. My first inkling that I would spend my life working with kids came when I began tutoring students for the PSAT. For years I delighted in helping my students feel confident and prepared, which led me to earning my MEd and begin teaching full time. I had the privilege to teach both locally and abroad in Ecuador and Germany, before finding my current position at an exceptional independent school. I am a fully certified teacher with additional certifications in ESL and International Baccalaureate.

One of my greatest strengths is my ability to build strong relationships with my students. My kids are excited to be in class, engaged, and curious. As a 5th grade science teacher, I treasure the notes I get from students explaining how they never liked or understood science before, but that their outlook has changed since being in my class. My biggest thrill is inspiring a life long passion for learning and having a fun time doing it. When I tutor students I generally like to talk with a parent and current teacher of the student to ask about areas of growth. Once I know where we are headed, I make a plan to introduce, re-teach, or provide extra guided practice to the student. I pride myself on coming up with interesting and unique ways to provide instruction so that kids stay motivated.
