"I'm Kittie! I graduated with honors from Regis University with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. I started my educational journey as a para with specialized training in reading interventions. After three years of para work I graduated and was hired as a 5th grade teacher. I have been teaching 5th grade for four years and will be teaching 6th grade this fall. I love working in small groups or one-on-one with students as I believe it allows for more individualized learning.

I am certified to teach math that is aligned with the Common Core Standards. I have taught 5th and 6th grade math for four years.

I love exploring science and helping students to find the fun in it.

I am certified and have used Lindamood Bell and Seeing Stars in my own small group work. These systems focus on phonics and go back to the basics of reading. As a 5th grade teacher I have taught reading in a departmentalized team for three years.
