"こんにちは! After living and working in multiple areas of Japan I now teach Japanese and English online. Learning a language can be a very fun and rewarding experience, and I love having the chance to share that with my students. With many years of online teaching experience, I believe my hand-crafted teaching materials can be used by the students in order to learn the language much more effectively than from other tutors.

Some people ask, “why should I learn Japanese from you instead of a native speaker?” The answer is that I believe that languages are actually taught better by a non-native speaker. Native speakers do not have the experience of studying the language through the context of English in the same way a non-native does. Because I have spent lots of time learning Japanese myself, I am able to pass on all of the studying tricks I have learned throughout the years to my students. I also have first hand experience of what it is like to live as a foreigner in Japan and can give advice about how to deal with the struggles involved.

Though I also teach intermediates, my main focus is beginners. I have written my own teaching materials aimed at teaching Japanese to English speakers with little or no experience. My materials focus on teaching Japanese in a way that flows logically, as well as teaches the most important information first.
