"I am a trained historian (BS & MA) with over ten years' experience in the education field. My master's thesis focused on the Jewish community of Manchester, England; however, I have varying interests beyond just British history.

I have previously worked as a tutor, substitute teacher (elementary through high school), child development teacher (primarily with children aged 8 months to 11 years), and adjunct professor in American History, as well as with Child Protective Services in Texas. I completed over 40 hours of Education credits during my undergraduate career, after which I decided I wanted to move overseas. I have worked both remotely and one-on-one with students. I am currently preparing to return to university for a degree in Social Work as my work with Child Protective Services has influenced a change in my career path. My experience with CPS allowed me to take over 120 hours of additional training in areas such as child psychology.

Methodologically, I tend to let my students guide. Of course, there will always be a subject to discuss, but I appreciate a Socratic method to learning in which there is an open dialogue between teacher and students. To me, the best part about teaching is learning alongside the student, because often times the student gives an interesting and insightful perspective into the subject matter. I empathize very deeply with my students, especially those who have a disability, as I also have a disability. I understand how it affects learning and will work with my students to ensure they are feeling heard, appreciated, and understood at all times. I tend to use visuals quite frequently in my work.
