"Hi! I am Maria and I love teaching and going to school. I am a creative spirit with a natural ability to share my knowledge and ideas through instruction and writing. Throughout my career as student, I have always helped my peers in various areas of study including essay writing, research, chemistry, art history, world history, interior design, spanish and many more! Outside of college, I help my younger sister with her homework on a weekly basis via FaceTime. This has given me a ton of practice with online learning and working with a middle school curriculum.

Over the last year, I have realized that my passion for education is my career path. This is why I am currently working on getting a post-graduate teaching certification in Art Education as well as looking for some more tutoring experience. I am patient, I’m great with kids and I love to read and write. I have always had a professional attitude toward learning and so much admiration for those who have shared their knowledge with me. I would be honored to pass this on to my own students one day.

I have always been proficient in reading and writing. I have sharpened these skills continuously throughout my entire life through intensive writing courses and several semesters filled with research projects and essay writing. My strongest points include grammar, diction, critical thinking and analysis through research. My average letter grade on a college essay is an A- and my average final grade in an intensive writing class is an A-.

I truly believe the understanding of the elements of art and design lead to a universal understanding of the world. I studied architecture and interior design throughout my four years of high school and it shaped the way I see everything. Now, five years later, my mind still stands out compared to others because of how I can critically evaluate the spaces I am in and articulate why or why not I “like” something.
