"Hi, my name is Matthew C. I have a lifelong passion for History and various related topics in the social science and humanities. I am currently applying to PhD programs in History! I have a BA in History and an MA in Public Affairs and Policy from Xavier University in Cincinnati Ohio. While working on my master's I served as a teaching assistant, including teaching college-level courses when the Professor was absent. I also worked individually with students extensively to help with assessments or study before tests and assessments. I have also worked as a research assistant in history doing original archival research. I am planning to pursue a PhD in 20th-century American political and religious history but am also extremely passionate about many other periods of history, including but by no means limited to Ancient Rome, China, Colonial America, Global History, and the global interactions in the pre-modern and early modern periods.

Professionally I also serve as editor of a popular bi-weekly publication and an expert contributor for helping develop AI chat tools. I previously worked as an Economic Analyst working on contracts for the Department of Defense. In high school, I took several AP and IB courses in History and social sciences and I understand methods to help prepare for those exams in particular. I also have a certificate in congressional affairs from Georgetown University and have engaged in volunteering aimed at lobbying Congress as well as other activities that me a close and personal look at how the US Government functions. I have also traveled extensively in Europe and Asia, giving me a better appreciation for the importance of understanding global history and affairs." less...
