"Hello! My name is Alexis, and I have over 10 years of experience in education! I provide holistic, bespoke, and FUN classes. I'm passionate about early childhood education, social-emotional learning, the English language, and reading/phonics!

I specialize in supporting learners with additional needs (e.g. dyslexia, autism, ADHD, and anxiety). My students describe me as patient, compassionate, silly, and dedicated.

After living in southeast Asia from 2018 to 2024, I am now based in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy traveling, spending time in nature, baking, playing with my three cats, and learning Burmese.

I hold a degree in early childhood education. I also am TEFL certified and have certifications from Logic of English, Reading Simplified, Nessy Understanding Dyslexia, and Darkness to Light. I continually attend trainings and workshops to ensure my methods are up-to-date with current best practice and recent research.

I have worn many hats in the field of education. Since 2021, I've been a private teacher/tutor for students of varying ages, levels, and backgrounds. My previous roles have included teaching in international schools in three different countries and private and public childcare.

I take into account the individual student's learning goals, preferences, ability, personality, and emotional needs. I utilize methods such as inquiry-based learning, speech-to-print, and total physical response. These methods are combined with intentional language to aid student's vocabulary and grammar and a structured, systematic approach to ensure true understanding of each concept.
