"I am a retiring detective and a disabled veteran. In law enforcement, I was a police academy instructor that taught new recruits local, state and federal laws that they would enforce upon graduation and licensed as a peace officer. The courses and subjects I would teach and instruct were to improve the ability of the recruits to enforce laws and maintain the peace of the city and its citizens. I would tutor those students/recruits before and after the academy started and at times, help them study for their weekly exams and projects. Once they graduated from the academy, they would start their career as a police officer. And if I wasn’t teaching then, most of the time, I would train the new officers the basic skills and instructions to enforce the laws, which including detention and/or arrest, defensive driving and criminal investigations.

So as a DARE officer, I got to go to different age group school and teaching them about avoiding doing crimes, say no to drugs and learn to be a great citizen. I started to teach law courses in college as a special guest for certain professors. So again I volunteered to help out in study groups for those college students. Guess I just feel in love with teaching so I choose to teach 7th thru 12th grade students the history of us and our nation(s). I was very fortunate to have known a lot of teachers as a kid. As an adult, I enjoy the pride of helping others and well, I am married to an elementary teacher as well. It will be my pleasure to help you understand history and the importance of why the subject is taught.
