Learning to read is fascinating and it provides a doorway to explore and engage the many worlds that impact the human experience. Reading comprehension or understanding what is read may be a challenge for some, However, the good news is that everyone can learn through tailor-made or individualized instruction. I love to see students come alive when they learn how to learn.
I am an effective English tutor who uses a science-based approach to learning. One of the greatest tools for my success is called scaffolding. This technique is an instructional design whereby I, the teacher, model the desired learning strategy or task, then gradually shift responsibility to the student. In short, scaffolding is a three stage process: (1) I do, (2) we do, and (3) you do. This tool is effective in teaching any academic discipline.
My sincere hope is to help as many students as possible learn how to become life-long learners. I encourage parents and students to engage me in conversations about specific ways I might be able to help. Please feel free to contact me through WyzAnt. God bless." less...
