I teach in a middle school language immersion program, so my 11-13 year old students are engaging with curriculum that is normally targeted to students in levels 2-4. I have been in this role for five years.
Prior to my current teaching position, I taught middle school English in a small town in Puebla, Mexico and I served as a long-term substitute for a high school ESL program in Kent, Washington. I have a lot of experience in finding and developing appropriate curriculum and instructional strategies for students of diverse backgrounds as they work towards language proficiency and develop their communication skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking.
I have an undergrad degree from Augustana University in Education, as well as a minor in teaching English as a new or second language. I also have two years of experience working in the classroom, in small groups and in a one-on-one setting.
I have an undergraduate degree in Spanish education, as well as five years of Spanish language teaching experience.
I am a certified teacher with a Bachelor's in education from Augustana University and a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governor's University. More importantly, I have a range of teaching experience and I am eager to work with you (or your students) to accomplish your educational and linguistic goals!" less...
