"I’ve obtained my bachelors of science degree in biology with a minor of chemistry from Bluefield University. I have also obtained a Master of Arts in teaching special education degree from liberty university.

I work in a middle school as a special education teacher. I teach all subjects in a small-group basis. I have been teaching for almost two years now. With the type of environment that I teach in, I do a great deal of tutoring style work. One-on-one instruction is important in my classroom to tailor what is being learned to the individual’s needs. I have volunteered in the past at an after-school program for impoverished children. This allowed me to tutor kids as well between the ages of 6-12. I did this for about two years before I began to teach.

I find it is best to find what works for a student and teach to their learning style. This is the best way to foster growth and understanding. I do not believe in yelling either, but instead encouraging and building everyone up." less...
