"My name is Melanie D. and I graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Art Education PK-12 with Summa Cum Laude honors. The focus of my education was split into fine art workshops, pedagogy, and Art History.
For the past three years, I have been an Elementary Art Teacher in my hometown of Erie, Pennsylvania and a practicing artist on the side. Previous to that, I worked in many different industries from hospitality to Special Education, outdoor education, and adult education. My passion has always been working with people and sharing my skills and enthusiasm for the arts, therefore I would love the opportunity to assist you with your educational journey.
Working with people is what brings me joy which is why I became a teacher. I have formal training in both Visual Arts Education and Graphic Design. I love to be creative in many different ways: drawing, painting, wood burning, building, pastels, ink, etc. I have taken many college level courses in both Art Theory and Art History. Learning Art is limitless; if I don't know the answer, I will look it up, research, and learn with you.
