"My name is Stacey D. I am a elementary teacher in Hampton, Va. I have always served in the capacity as an educator since I was 18 years (either in a daycare setting or in our public schools). I always encourage my students to apply themselves, seek assistance when needed, and to recognize that failure is an opportunity to learn and to improve. During the summer months I continue working with students as a day camp supervisor. I take that opportunity to transfer some wisdom in a more relaxed and fun environment.
On a more personal note: I also have two grown up daughters that are happy in their chosen career paths. My youngest daughter works for Essence magazine and lives in New York City. So I love it when I have the opportunity to travel to the big city to see her and enjoy the festivities. I also work with children at my church as a Praise Dance instructor. We work together to develop routines that will help us express our feelings through dance, and we have fun. And lastly, I would like to share that I enjoy singing.
