"As a current Predoctoral fellow at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, tutoring the next generation of aspiring scientists will let me share the knowledge I have built over the years. I previously have instructed Zoology and General Biology Laboratory II as an M.S. student at Michigan Technological University (MTU), where I received outstanding teaching evaluations and awards and recognitions for my abilities as an instructor.

As the instructor for the Zoology course at MTU, I was given the opportunity to adjust and design the curriculum. I made a point to integrate the interests of my students when choosing topics and designing laboratory exercises, which greatly improved engagement. I made a point to connect with each of my students in the classroom to ensure that they were learning the materials effectively.

While instructor of General Biology Laboratory II, I managed a large group of young students starting their degrees. This was incredibly rewarding, because I was one of the first people to teach them basic biological laboratory skills and techniques. Additionally, I instructed during the transition to online learning during COVID. I made sure to stay connected with my students and provided them virtual materials to still keep them engaged.
