"I am a former mathematics professor at Colorado Mesa University, currently transitioning to industry work. I worked as a professor for 6 years, but before that I had been tutoring since 2006. I received my PhD from the University of Iowa in 2018, and I have a Masters Degree in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin with an emphasis in Education. I also obtained my Teaching Certificate from the University of Iowa and received an Outstanding Teaching Award there as well.

I have taught multiple calculus courses, college algebra, geometry, discrete mathematics, linear algebra, abstract algebra, number theory, and more. I was also a Teaching Assistant at U. Iowa and UT Austin, as well as a private tutor since 2005, so I have plenty of experience teaching mathematics to all levels.

My teaching philosophy is that we learn some by watching, a lot by doing, and the most by teaching. I try to incorporate that in all of my sessions, as much as possible. I will generally show you examples, explain concepts through analogies or in depth (depending on your need), help guide you through the problem, and then ask you to explain it back to me to make sure you don't have any lingering questions or misconceptions. I have a lot of worksheets and materials that I have designed over the years, which I am happy to share if you need more practice. I am also willing and able to create personalized material depending on your needs. I am patient, friendly, and nothing brings me more satisfaction than helping you succeed.
